Note: These fasteners are NOT stainless steel. The original factory hardware in this location was grade 8.8 steel. Standard A2 stainless steel does not meet OE strength requirements, so an upgraded solution was selected. These fasteners are grade 12.9 high-strength steel with a zinc coating to provide corrosion protection while maintaining a clean engine bay appearance. The zinc finish offers a bright silver tone with a hint of bluing , visually similar to stainless, though slightly more reflective than the muted stainless finish.
